There are 5 basic rules of Firearm Safety:
1. Conduct yourself in a mature and responsible manner
2. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded
3. Never point a firearm at anything unless you plan to shoot it
4. Never put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot it
5. Know your target and what is beyond it
Additional safety considerations:
*Secure your weapon away from children and unauthorized persons
*Attend firearm training
*Properly maintain your weapon
*Never handle a weapon while intoxicated
*Use the correct ammunition
*Read and follow all instructions
